About the Justice Fund

The Justice Fund’s mission is to advocate and lobby for:

• Improvement of the quality and scope of publicly supported legal representation to low-income people
• An adequate system of public defense services
• The rights and interests of public defense clients and public defense attorneys
• Heightened awareness among the public and others as to issues of public defense services
• Alternatives to incarceration
• A more just and equitable prison system and prison reform
• Improved reentry systems

The Justice Fund seeks to end racial, ethnic, socio-economic, and other forms of discrimination and lobbies for improvements in the criminal justice system in New York State and nationally.
